Dr. Rui Dai is a distinguished dental professional with a strong commitment to both academic excellence and clinical expertise. After graduating as School Captain at Burwood Girls High School and receiving the Premier’s Award for All-Round Excellence in the NSW Higher School Certificate (HSC), Rui was awarded The University of Sydney Entry Scholarship upon entering the Bachelor of Oral Health program. She received numerous awards during her study, including The University of Sydney Academic Merit Prize and the Oral B Award for her exceptional academic and clinical performance.
She then pursued the Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) program at The University of Sydney, where she earned further distinction, including The University of Sydney Academic Merit Prize, The Dr Antonia Scott Prize, H.J.V. Cusack Memorial Prize for proficiency in clinical restorative dentistry and the Sydney Levine Prize in Periodontics. During her study, she also served as Vice Secretary of the Sydney University Dental Association (SUDA). In 2017, she was named a finalist for the "Australian Dental Graduate of the Year" by Avenue Dental, earning a complimentary mini residency program. After completing her studies, Rui worked as a general dentist, but her passion for orthodontics has driven her to pursue specialized training.
Rui was accepted into a full-time postgraduate specialist training program, completing a three-year Doctor in Clinical Dentistry (Orthodontics) at the University of Melbourne. During her study, she served as the President of the Orthodontic Postgraduate Student Society. With a foundation built on both academic excellence and clinical proficiency, Rui is dedicated to provide high-quality, patient-centred orthodontic care to the community, offering a welcoming and supportive environment for patients of all ages.
Rui also speaks Mandarin fluently. Outside of work, she enjoys expressing her creativity through painting and playing piano as well as exploring inner peace through yoga, finding harmony between her professional dedication and artistic passions.
